PalPharma Handling Solutions are pleased to introduce the development of a vacuum lifter suction foot to handle loose lidded drums (see pictures below).
Traditionally drums lifted by vacuum on the lid are reliant upon the over centre clamp bands securely fastening the lid to the drum. However with this new design the over centre clamp band is not required.
This means the customer was able to make a substantial saving by using existing plastic drums rather than having to buy new stainless steel ones.
The system was also capable of lifting sacks and boxes, and lowering the drum clamp was so easy that no productivity was lost when picking up the loose lidded drums.
The design was for a leading Pharmaceutical OEM and Manufacturer who brought this challenge to PALPharma. Technical Director Stewart Bennison, and R&D Fabrication Engineer Andy Loughlin worked closely together to come up with this revolutionary new design.
The design was rapturously received by the customers.
